Write about one of your characters writing or telling a story. Don’t stop at that though. Mention that the character is writing/talking quickly and possibly making mistakes or leaving potentially important parts of the story out. Feel free to include any other thoughts or feelings that you currently have about writing your novel.

By now your plot should be moving along, and you should be fairly acquainted with your characters.

Today, one of your characters is going to change their mind on something. Maybe they agreed with another character at one point, but they suddenly don’t feel the same way.  How does this affect your characters relationship with other characters? Does your character convince others to change their minds?

It’s time to make your characters do things. Below are three verbs. Find a way to get two into your writing.

This prompt is one in a series of prompts for those participating in National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo).

It’s easy to start writing and completely forget that your characters need to eat to live.

So what are your characters eating? Is it one character’s favorite food while another character’s least favorite? Do your characters have be careful about what they eat because of a food allergy?

If your story isn’t in a place where your characters are eating yet, then write about them talking about their next meal.  What are their expectations of the meal? And will their expectations fall short, be met, or be exceeded?
